How to Check the Performance of a Manual Gearbox？(Ⅰ)

Whether the performance of a manual gearbox in a good condition or not can be determined by: first, if the clutch has been polished; second, if the synchronous transmission that makes the gear steady and smooth moving worn.

Clutch wear

This is relatively easy to identify, first of all, pay attention to whether the clutch makes a very high frequency sound, and then test the circumstances of each stalls.

When test the stalls, try to step on the accelerator to speed the car, note that whether the clutch will jump off, or so-called "hop gear." To know whether the "hop gear" happened, just check the car's engine rotational speed, if the engine rotational speed is very fast, but the moving speed does not accelerate, obviously, the clutch has problems.

If there is a device on car dashboard showing the engine speed, you can look at the pointer swing on display panel, if the pointer often sudden rises or falls, it clearly indicated that the gearbox has problems. To be continued...
