How to Inspect and Repair the Gearbox Cover?

The gearbox cover should be free of cracks,  when its flatness tolerance of combination surface with the gearbox housing overruns, can use shovel, planing, filing, milling and other methods to repair; when the gap between fork shaft and bearing bore over limit, it should be replaced.

1. General cracks, welding repair, if the cracks connecting with the bearing bore or cracks in mounting holes, the gearbox cover should be scrapped.


2. The transmission house with the plane-related form and position errors that exceed the relevant technical requirements, using filing, milling, grinding or scraping repairing method.


3. When the gearbox housing due to deformation or wear causes the shape and position error of each bearing hole exceeding the technical requirements, it shall be repaired by inlay method, but it should be scrapped if badly damaged.


4. When the match error of the housing and the fixed shaft is more than 0.015mm of tolerance values of the original design, it should be repaired by spraying or plating method.


5. When the wear of bearing hole on gearbox cover matching with shift lever ball joint make its diameter comparing with the original design in size increased 0.5mm, it should be scrapped.


6.The gap between the shift fork shaft and bearing hole on housing cover should be 0.04-0.20mm, if over the maximum value, it can be plating or replaced.
