Nine Causes for the Automotive Skip-shift

Source: http://www.yonglingcn.com   Time: 2017-03-14 Hits:0

1. Due to the excessive wear of the shift system parts like gears, gear housing or synchronizer teeth, it created an axial thrust when they meshed, and was further affected by the inertia effect of shaking and rotational speed change, forcing the meshing gears axially disengaged.

2. The gear shift lever was bent and deformed, the shift system parts worn too much, the fixing screw loosed etc., so that the gear couldn’t be engaged normally.

3. Self-locking device worn and loosed, as well as the spring elasticity was poor or broken, resulting in insufficient locking force, so that the shift forks couldn’t be reliably positioning.

4. Those gears or gear housing worn too much, the teeth were possible to become tapered.

5. Because shaft and bearing worn serious, axial clearance was over ranges, or the first and second shafts were not parallel with the middle shaft, the gear moved irregular and could not normally engage, which caused skip-shift.

6. The spline teeth of the shaft with the spline groove of the sliding gear worn too much.

7. The second axis spline was distortion or the teeth worn excessive, self-locking nut loosed to cause the shaft and shift system parts moving forward or backward.

8. The synchronizer lock was loose, the synchronizer fell apart or the joint teeth worn too much.

9. The transmission was not firmly fixed.
