The automatic transmission fluid (ATF) of automated gearboxes in vehicles is required to be replaced for every two years or 40,000 kilometers in general. But the requirment could be different according to car models. On the Japanese models, the proposed time is after reaching 40000 ~ 80000km. Vehicles of more high-speed driving are recommended to replace every 40,000 km.

ATF can not be completely exhausted by the use of atmospheric pressure, which can only discharge about 1/2 of the amount of waste fluid. Residual oil and sludge, impurities gathered in the valve body, torque converter and cooling lines, resulting in oil circuit blockage. More than 99% of the failed gearbox is due to overheating and impurities caused by stop replacing ATF for a long time. Also check whether the automotive gearbox case is deformed or if the gearbox is leaking.

Car owners also need to take noted that high frequency of replacement is sometimes not good, only timely replacement of ATF is the best. In addition, the delay of replacment to the ATF would not cause big troubles.
