How to Check and Adjust the Gear Switch?

Push the handle to each gear to check if the gear indicator matches with each handle position, whether the engine can be started when in P and N gears, and whether the reversing light is on when shifting into R gear. The engine should only be started in neutral (N gear) and parking gears (P gear). In case of abnormality, adjust start-up switch bolt and switch circuit of the neutral gear.

1. Loosen the set screw of the gear switch and push the handle into the N gear;

2. Align the notch with the baseline of neutral gear;

Some automatic gearbox gear switch cases are engraved with a reference line, align the baseline with the notch on manual valve rocker shaft when in adjustmen. Some automatic gearbox gear switches have a positioning hole, align the positioning hole with another positioning hole on the rocker arm when in adjustment.

3. The position of the gear switch is adjusted and then fixed.
