Function and failure mode of shift fork of automobile gearbox

　　As an important part of the automobile gearbox, the shift fork is connected to the shift handle and is located at the lower end of the handle. The middle shift wheel is moved to change the input/output speed ratio.

　　The gearbox shift fork is used for shifting. It is mainly used in the operating mechanism to pull apart the two meshing gears and then shift one of the gears that can slide on the shaft to the other gear to obtain another speed. Simply put, it is to change the position of the internal gear of the gearbox to achieve shifting.

　　Most of the failures of the gearbox shift fork are due to wear. The place where the shift fork is more likely to be worn is the part where the shift fork contacts the gear ring groove. The shift fork does not rotate because the gear rotates at a high speed, the shift fork is worn, or the strength is insufficient, which may cause the gear to hang. If it is not in place, the gear will be lost or the fork will be broken.
