1. When the gear skip-shift occurs, firstly still push back the shift lever, then remove the gearbox case to check the gear engagement state; further to check the gearbox shift forks lock mechanism if the meshing state is normal.

2. To check the positioning device through pushing the gearbox shift forks, if the positioning device in a poor state, it is needed to check the positioning ball and spring after removing the gearbox forks. In the cases that the spring is too soft or broken, or the shift fork slot wears too much, then those shift system parts should be repaired or replaced.

3. Make sure the gear meshing in a normal state, if the gear is not fully meshing, then it may be properly engaged by pushing the gears or gear sets, also to identify the shift fork conditions, for example, whether it was bending or worn too much, whether screws were loose, as well as whether the clearance between the fork end and gear slot was improper? The corresponding solutions are straightening the bending shift fork, or to repair and remove the worn parts.

4. If the transmission mechanism is good, and the gear or gear set can be properly engaged, then continue to checking whether the gear wears to deform, it should replace to new one if wears too much.

5. Check the bearing and shaft wear condition. If shaft wears serious, bearing looses or shift shaft moves in the axial direction, it should be repaired or replaced.

6. Make sure the work conditions of the synchronizer or other automotive OEM parts, if the failure occurs, it should be repaired or replaced.

7. Get knowing the state of the fixing bolts on automotive shift system parts, if they loose, then need be tightened.
