When a car is turning, the path of the wheel is an arc. If the car turns to the right, the length of the arc on the left wheel is longer than that of the right wheel at the same time, the same is true when the car turns to the left. In order not to produce the phenomenon of steering interference, the outer wheel has to turn faster than the inner wheel.


When the car is going straight, the transmission shaft transmits the power to the ring gear (the power is in the same direction as the car moves forward) through the gear, and the ring gear drives the two planetary gears to rotate. Because the two side gears mesh with the two planetary gears, so the side gear is rotated by the planetary gear at this time, and the side gear is connected with the left and right drive axle, and the car is going forward. When driving in a straight line, the resistance of the left and right drive wheels suffered is the same, so the planetary gear does not rotate at this time.


When the car turns left or right, the left wheel and right wheel encounter different resistances, the left and right side gears have different resistances, two planetary gears at this time along the drive shaft rotation will also rotate to absorb the resistance, so that the wheels on both sides can rotate at different speeds, and the car turns quietly.
