Hydraulic automatic transmission consists of torque converter, planetary gear mechanism, hydraulic control systems, electronic control systems and others. Currently, the vast majority of automatic models on the market are equipped with this type of automatic transmission, and the number of gears is still one of the standards to measure its technical content. The original 4-speed automatic transmission is no longer the mainstream, at present, the general family car with five-speed or six-speed are for more favor.

From a development point of view of the AT automatic transmission, the part work of optimizing transmission efficiency and reducing power loss will be processed in the torque converter.
